This is my bright power led site

LG has sent us one of their latest gaming monitors to review, the LG W2486L. TheW2486L is designed to be used for PC gaming and it features a large 24 inch LED backlit display with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, which means it is capable of displaying Full HD videos, it also has a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The LG W86L features a contrast ratio of 2,000,00:1 and a 2ms response time. There are two HDMI ports, which means you can hook it up to your Xbox 360 or PS3, there is also a D-Sub port and a DVI-D, plus a headphone out jack.

As the W2486L is LED backlit, this makes the monitor pretty thin, measuring just 20.5mm at its thickest point. It will also use less power than standard LCD monitors.

Design wise the W2486L is very nice, it features a sleek and stylish design that would look great in any geeks office or apartment, and it features a nice gloss black exterior, and the stand features some red accents which give it a nice look.

On the front of the monitor there are a range of various control key and a power button, all of which are touch sensitive, this is a nice feature and adds to the sleek design.

The LG W2486lL is designed as a gaming monitor, and we tested in on one of our PCs with a variety of different games using the DVI connection and it performed very well. The colors are bright and the picture is clear and sharp.

We also tested it with a HD movie on our PC and this also looked great on the monitor, again the colors were bright and the picture was crystal clear and sharp.

Having two HDMI ports also means that you can use the LGw2486L with a range of games consoles, and we tested the monitor with our Xbox 360, which looks great on it, and if you are looking for a monitor to use solely with a gaming console I would definitely recommend the LG W2486L.

Conclusion

The only downside to the monitor is the combination of the the black glossy finish, and the touch sensitive controls which means that it shows up finger marks pretty easily when you use the menu, although this is a small price to pay for the picture quality.

Overall the LG W2486L is a great gaming monitor, it is incredibly thin, and the design is very nice. The colors are sharp and the picture is clear and crisp, and HD content looks great on it. If you are looking for a gaming monitor, with a HD resolution then I would definitely recommend you check out the LG W2496L.

Pricing on the LG W2486L is pretty reasonable, we found it available on a number of US retailers including Amazon for around $330, whilst in the UK we found it available for around £245.

The package design for multiple high-power LED dies allows for a combined output in the 1 to 15 watt output power range. These packages have very small form factors and can be fabricated at low cost. The small form factors enable the design of light source optics with more compact sizes. Yan’s materials enable a new class of high-power LED-based light source and display applications to emerge.

One measure of how efficiently a package dissipates heat is the temperature rise across the package. Using this measure, in current high-power LED packages the thermal resistance from the junction to the case is generally in the range of 15 to 20.degree. C./W. By comparison, an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure has a lower thermal resistance of only about 6.degree. C./W or 3.degree. C./W for a four LED dice package. Therefore, the materials enable LED devices for new applications in both high temperature environments (such as in an automobile engine compartment) and also in environments that cannot accommodate high temperature components (such as a dental curing light for use in a patient's mouth).

The high-power LEDs developed by Yan have the following features: 1) They offer higher performance by enabling 50% or greater luminosity per LED die as compared to prior art packages; 2) they provide a high thermal conductivity path to conduct heat away from LED dies; 3) they redirect light emitted at low solid angles (tangential light) into directions more nearly perpendicular to the surface of the LED die; and 4) they provide a material layer, for bonding to the LED die, having a CTE that is closely matched to the CTE of the LED die to minimize interfacial stresses and improve reliability.

Yan’s design for a package for a single high-power LED die in the 1 to 7 watt output power range provides the desirable features of heat dissipation.  Yan also developed the means to stabilize the wavelength (i.e., color) of LED dies. In the case of white LED applications, the Yan’s design for improving white light LED efficiency.

The packages can be used with LED devices that operate over the range of wavelengths from ultraviolet (UV) to Infrared (IR) which covers the range from 200 to 2000 nanometers. Further, packages can include bonding pads configured to accommodate any of a number of different LED die designs that are presently available in the market. In some embodiments, the design provides a versatile package design whereby the thermal and electrical paths are separated. In this way, the package can be attached to a heat sink of a circuit board using either a thermally and electrically conductive epoxy or solder, or a thermally conductive and electrically non-conductive epoxy.
